Russian Mosin Nagant M-1938 #2622
Russian Mosin Nagant model 1938 rifle caliber 7.62x54R, 20” barrel with strong rifling and no visible pitting. The muzzle end of the barrel is counter bored and it looks to have a newly cut crown – most likely this was done by the arsenal that reworked this rifle. The metal is all in excellent condition and the wood is the same with one dark spot on the butt that could be a repair or just a dark section of the grain. Bolt, butt plate and receiver numbers match and the magazine floor plate has been re-stamped to match and the original number has a line through it. The receiver is dated 1943 and both the receiver and the bolt have the Izhevsk Factory mark stamped on them. I have test fired and cleaned this rifle – it cycles and shoots perfectly. The high gloss that you see in the pictures is from the gun oil that I wiped the entire rifle down with but the wood does appear to have a finish on it - possibly varnish. Rifle comes with the accessories in the picture above – Sling, ammunition pouch, oil bottle, takedown tool and cleaning kit. This rifle is basically an M-44 without the bayonet.
